Welcome to the Cyber-Geography Research Bulletin. This is a regular, free, email bulletin to inform you of changes and new additions made to the Geography of Cyberspace Directory and the Atlas of Cyberspaces on the Cyber-Geography Research web site. The bulletin is distributed about once a month, depending on how much time I have available for my cyberspace exploration.

* The NetGeo service offers an Internet Geographic Database. This provides a latitude and longitude for key Internet identifiers such as IP addresses, domain names and AS numbers. It is being developed by Caida. (http://www.caida.org/Tools/NetGeo/)

Internet Technology Analyst

Netcraft requires an internet technology analyst to write about its range of Internet technology services, which measure all aspects of the internet topology, including web servers, operating systems, content technologies, streaming media, virtual hosting and ISP markets.

The key attributes are that the person should really enjoy writing, and have a consuming interest in internet technology. Being able to produce nice documents in html and Word, make good use of Excel, effective web authoring, and familiarity with Unix and perl all helps too.

The role would include;

• Writing analysis for the monthly Web Server Survey and SSL Server Survey

• Maintaining and improving existing web content, and developing promotional content for the company's services.

• Producing analysis of our content technology surveys

• Being interested in and understanding how the internet exploration is done, and fielding questions from customers.

• Spotting opportunities for new services in technologies that we are not already covering

• Consulting for customers

• Acting as press contact for the company, and further enhance the companies press relations.

General

Applications from outside the UK are welcome if they have citizenship of an EU country or a current work permit for the UK and an excellent command of the English language.

Applications from people considering a move from an academic environment are also very welcome.
